How to Throw Coins & Ask Questions

As an ancient Chinese oracle of sorts, accessing the subconcious mind, the I Ching has proven to be uncannily accurate. I started studying it in the early 70's and have consulted the coins many times over the years. I will offer you the links on the I Ching so that you can read more on the symbolism and interpretations.

If you want to just ask a question and toss three coins, you can post what you came up with and I will post an interpretation back to you. You can post the question or keep the question secret. But in either case stay focused in your mind while you toss.

3 tails = - - yin ===> yang (the yin line is a broken line)
2 tails = --- yang (the yang line is a solid line)
2 heads = - - yin
3 heads = --- yang ===> yin

Directions:

1. Throw the coins six times while you sit on the floor or at your table and calmly focus your attention on your question. Usually questions are worded as such: What is my best course of action concerning.....? What is the situation regarding ..... ? The I Ching DOES NOT answer "yes" or "no." It gives a complicated reading of the various human players in the social situation you will be pondering. It is highly symbolic and once you know the Chinese symbolism, you too can do your own readings and readings for others.

2. On each throw write down either 3t, 2t, 2h, 3h for each
throw. Throw #1. should be listed at the bottom and #2 through #6 conseq. listed on top.

It would look like this:

You don't have to number them, but make sure the first toss is the bottom one!

3. Post your coin tossing outcome on the board and if you want to share your question, that is welcome, but you do not have to.

I will then find the corresponding hexagram, look up the hexagram and its reading on a site, and post the internet page and hexagram for you to read the results. I will also include a little interpretation of my own along with it.

The hexagram for the above coin toss would look like this:
