Please Note: Throughout this piece I shall be referring to “ego”. The meaning for ego is not the popular and widely used one (an exaggerated sense of self, conceit, or over inflated self image). Herein, ego shall be used as a symbol of separation from God Mind. For a deeper understanding of ego, read here - www.miracles.org.nz/ego.htm
DREAMS
Every soul personality has three levels of consciousness: super-conscious, subconscious, and conscious. All the infinite levels of your soul personality exist simultaneously in these three states of consciousness without separation from God Mind. Both the dream world (subconscious) and the waking world (conscious) are masks for true reality (super conscious) and are extremely symbolic of our true mind patterns and life directions. Although three levels are mentioned here, keep in mind that there is only ONE consciousness.
Your subconscious mind is always aware of your super conscious and conscious minds. The subconscious mind is the border between the physical and spiritual parts of self. Reaching beneath the surface, the subconscious mind is the translator for the spiritual state manifesting into the physical state. Through dreams, your subconscious mind presents you with pertinent life information that you may be ignoring while awake. When lessons are not consciously learned, they are revealed symbolically in the dream state. These symbols are the ones with which you are familiar in your conscious state – therefore, both levels are the same, an illusion within an illusion, or a symbol of Oneness. People usually dream in familiar colors, languages, numbers, etc. If you experience a symbol that is beyond conscious awareness, you can remember it in detail by removing inner blocks.
Human beings sleep approximately 8 hours every day, or 1/3 of their lives. So much time is spent incorrectly analyzing the other 2/3 that people ignore the most important messages of all – from the dream state! You may accept your waking life as real, while dismissing the dream world as an illusion. In actuality, there is NO difference in symbology or in experience between the two. Symbolic messages received in the dream state depend upon the individual’s mind pattern. Most symbols in dreams are tailored specifically to the individual. In all of separated creation (an illusion or dream), no one is EXACTLY like you. In true reality, each is exactly like the other (ONE). There are individual definitions for dream symbols (colors, numbers, particular scenes, etc.) while other symbols are universal since all exists in God Mind. Individual mind patterns and experiences act as filters through which these symbols pass and project mind patterns. As you remember the thoughts, emotions, and details experienced in the dream state, DO NOT allow the conscious ego to dismiss anything as meaningless. This is simply another attempt to block the truth. Be aware of the phrase – I had this dream because this or that happened during the day. The truth is that the ego often attempts to justify the reason behind the dream so that you can use your conscious, self-deceiving thoughts to explain the subconscious symbolism, another way of diverting you from finding out what is NOT true about yourself.
As in ANY conscious lesson, there are infinite levels of meaning and purpose behind your dreams. Focus on the level of meaning that helps explain your conscious and subconscious experiences. Remember, you dream about YOURSELF or various aspect of YOUR personality in the form of symbols (people, places, and experiences). There could also be messages about relationships, life circumstances, and progress reports. The ego attempts to use a literal translation to deceive you into focusing outside of yourself. DO NOT allow this, for to do so means that you are asleep and not awake. More than mere flesh, blood, and bones, YOU ARE SPIRIT, and spirit never sleeps. When physically asleep, Breath of Life is still awake within you and reflects the mind patterns in the form of experiences represented by symbols.
When you dream, you replay your mind patterns that you try to bury in your subconscious mind. Much of the dream state plays out in the Astral Plane (subconscious), which envelops the Physical Plane (conscious); one cannot exist without the other. OBEs also take place in the Astral Plane. In this middle plane is where the newly dead come to rest or haunt, before moving on. Hauntings only affect physical realities. The plane also propels or thrusts thoughts into physical existence to become experiences for you – so be careful what you thing or what you wish for!
If you would like help in understanding the symbolism of a dream, you can post the dream in this section OR send me a PM through the board. Dreams can be revealing at times and I will keep things private when requested, or if I deem it necessary. Keep in mind the more details you provide about a dream, the better the interpretation - names, places, colors, left, right, and what the people, places or things means to you in the awake state, etc. As time goes on, the more I learn about your personal life the more I will be able to help you understand.
P.S. I DO NOT make any claims in being a Dreams Guru, it's simply been a favorite study subject AND I was taught by the best!
